I’m back

It’s been a long road, but I’m back to blogging again. Since the transplant I’ve had unexpected challenges arise. A few days after the transplant I had a seizure and the next day a stroke. Following those I’ve had several other procedures to repair my body back to working order. After my hospitalization, rehabilitation for the stroke and a second hospitalization, I have now been at the apartment in California for almost two weeks.

I have a vision deficit in my right eye and I’m relearning to read while I write and other skills that use to come easily. I use a walker to get around until my stability improves. I need help with most day to day tasks. I take medicine about five times a day - up to 20 at a time in some cases. I use a feeding tube to get my nutrients directly into my intestines. My stomach doesn’t empty all the way so until this gets fixed I will have the tube.

I’m using my blog to keep people updated but because of the stroke I am slower and the posts might not be frequent or long.

I have a lot to learn but I am up to the challenge. It will be a lot of work but I’ll get there!
