Good News!

It's a great day to be alive! I got another call from Stanford today. GOOD NEWS! They want to proceed forward with the transplant. My info will be sent to my insurance company again for a second approval. The insurance company should respond in a week or less. Even BETTER NEWS I should hopefully be on the transplant list in about a week. I'm excitedly scared. I am so happy and ready to be on the list and a little nervous that I could be having major surgery in the near future.
I asked for an estimate on a wait time since I was told 2 hours to 4 years while I was at Stanford. Obviously, no one really knows when my donor will become available, but I was told because of my blood type and being petite that I should be less than a year. I told Lisa I was hoping for May because it really works with my schedule and timeline and asked if she could possibly help me out with that. She laughed and said she'd see what she could do. On a side note: Stanford has already performed 3 heart and double lung transplants this year.
This weekend Levi and I need to pack and finalize plans for when we get the call. We will have 1 hour to get Zoe settled with her caregiver and get to the airport to meet our AirMed jet. No pressure, right?

I started packing my hospital bag. My dear friend, Ali, made this darling quilt for me to snuggle with while in the hospital. I'm so thankful for thoughtful friends. To be honest I am not looking forward to staying in a strange house for the 3-4 months while I recover from the transplant. I'm thankful to have this beautiful quilt to be a comfort item from home.
